2-Ethylhexanol

2-Ethylhexanol (abbreviated 2EH) is an organic compound with the chemical formula CH 3CH 2CH 2CH 2CH(CH 2CH 3)CH 2OH. It is a branched, eight-carbon chiral alcohol. It is a colorless liquid that is poorly soluble in water but soluble in most organic solvents.

The oxo-alcohol 2-ethylhexanol (2EH) is used primarily in the production of plasticizers used in the construction, automotive,shoe,production of dioctyl phthalate (DOP) and appliance industries.
